A New Beginning

Back in 2011, Dipti Vartak was an IT professional, having worked for top IT companies in India. It was then that the baking bug bit her, and she learned how to bake her first cake for her family. She was always fascinated by the wonder of baking – How a simple mixture of flour and fat gets converted into a cake. But she realized her true passion for baking when she baked her first cake for her baby.

Shortly after, she started baking for colleagues for office potluck parties and eventually took home orders for friends and family. Finally, in 2017, she took the plunge full-time and launched her home bakery – The Doughy Delights. Soon enough, orders came in for various requests – cupcakes, muffins, cookies, brownies, and specialty orders such as vegan desserts.

“After working for years as an IT Professional, I really wanted to pursue something that was based on my passion. I am lucky I found baking with which I am able to spread smiles around the world. With my mother being a teacher, I always knew that I want to share my knowledge with others. Finally, I am glad I am able to impact so many lives with my courses”

Her baked goodies have not only been enjoyed in her safe space home state but have travelled far and wide to Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, and beyond. Over the years, she was recognized on international forums, was featured on WhatsApp, and on London Financial Times, BBC, and People’s Television on Facebook & WhatsApp in 2020.

This is when she finally decided to share her personal experience and teach others with her knowledge who aspired to become bakers themselves but didn’t know how or where to begin.

Since launching her academy with Knorish, Dipti Vartak has sold courses, webinars, and coaching programs worth over 80 lakhs, roughly $100,000 in less than one year. In the process, she has coached 4500+ human capital of which many have started their own baking ventures.

From YouTube to Online Courses

Dipti’s journey of sharing knowledge started on Youtube. While she did get traction and her videos were well received, she knew that if she wanted to really make a difference and really empower others, she needed a more structured environment.

So rather than make videos at random, she decided to launch online courses. That’s when she discovered Knorish. While going through the demo, she remembered her days of working as an IT professional building LMSs for clients. She says she immediately resonated with the platform and fell in love with the platform instantly.

By launching online courses, she was able to offer a more structured learning ecosystem that her learners could learn from.
